MONNARTZ — Kitchen Sink & Faucet Catalog Redesign

Machiel Q.

An 11-page product catalog redesign for MONNARTZ, a premium French kitchen sink and faucet brand. The project required modernizing their existing catalog while maintaining brand consistency — improving layout hierarchy, creating custom product icons, and ensuring technical drawings were professionally presented. This was a competitive contest with 21 entries, and after continuous feedback rounds with the MONNARTZ team, my design was selected as the winner. The client was so satisfied they immediately booked me for their next design project.

Project Overview:

Project Type:

11-page product catalog redesign

Challenge:

The existing catalog was functional but lacked the professional polish MONNARTZ needed to compete in the premium kitchen fixtures market. The layout needed refinement, technical drawings required standardization, and the catalog desperately needed custom product icons to “professionalize” the pages.

Client Requirements:

  • Improve layout while respecting existing house style
  • Create custom product icons matching the MONNARTZ brand
  • Standardize measurement sizing across all technical drawings
  • Design for faucets, sinks, and accessories
  • Deliver final files in Adobe InDesign (editable)
  • Reference monnartz.com for brand consistency

Design Direction:

Clean, professional catalog layout with improved visual hierarchy, custom icon system, and refined
typography. The goal wasn’t a complete rebrand but a thoughtful elevation of the existing design language.

Solution:

  • Redesigned page layouts with better breathing room and hierarchy
  • Created a complete custom icon set (sink icons, faucet icons, accessory icons) consistent with MONNARTZ’s blue/white brand
  • Standardized all technical drawing measurements for consistency
  • Improved product photography integration and labeling
  • Delivered fully editable InDesign files for future updates

Deliverables:

  • 11-page catalog in Adobe InDesign format
  • Custom icon set in Adobe Illustrator (scalable vectors)
  • Print-ready PDF (CMYK, 300 DPI, with bleed)
  • Source Photoshop files for image edits
  • All fonts and assets organized

Result:

Won the contest against 21 competing designers after multiple feedback rounds. The MONNARTZ team praised the work with a 5-star review and immediately hired me for their next project — a true vote of confidence.

What The Client Said

Faruk did an awesome job redesigning our catalogue. Next month we will have a new design job and for sure we will hire him again. 100% recommended!

Why This Project Stands Out

Challenge 1: Balancing Tradition & Modernization

MONNARTZ didn’t want a complete rebrand — just a refined, professional upgrade. This required careful restraint: improving without erasing the brand’s existing identity.

Challenge 2: Icon System Design

The catalog lacked visual language. I created a complete custom icon set (sinks, faucets, accessories) that worked at small and large sizes while matching the MONNARTZ blue/white aesthetic.

Challenge 3: Technical Drawing Standardization

With multiple product types (34R10, 40R10, 50R10, 74R10 faucets, various sinks), measurement labels were inconsistent. I standardized sizing, positioning, and styling across all technical drawings.

The Win

After continuous feedback rounds and revisions, the MONNARTZ team selected my design from 21 entries. More importantly, they became a repeat client — booking me for their next project immediately after completion.
